GMT-Master 'Pepsi'
Why It Matters
The long-running GMT-Master that fixed the red-and-blue 'Pepsi' bezel in the popular imagination. Produced from about 1959 to 1980, the 40mm reference 1675 added crown guards to the original GMT-Master and ran two chronometer-certified movements over its life: the caliber 1565 into the mid-1960s, then the caliber 1575, which gained a hacking seconds function around 1971. Its rotating 24-hour bezel and fourth hand track a second time zone. Early examples carry pointed crown guards and glossy gilt dials; later ones have rounded guards and matte dials. The representative shown here has the red-and-blue Pepsi bezel.
