IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XII Platinum, black dial
IWC, 1994–1999
Why It Matters
The civilian heir to IWC's military pilot's watch. Introduced in 1994, the Mark XII, reference 3241, returned the Mark line to the catalogue after the Mark XI's RAF service. It is a compact 36mm steel watch with the pilot triangle at twelve and a date at three, and it runs the automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 889/2, badged as the IWC calibre 884, from the years when both houses sat under the same group. It is a distinct object from the hand-wound military Mark XI.
