Why It Matters
Akira Toriyama's first collected Dr. Slump volume begins the series in book form. Shueisha published the Japanese volume in August 1980. This opening volume is a publication milestone separate from the series' magazine debut. Edition and printing must be established from an individual copy; a volume-one cover alone does not prove a first printing.
