Breguet
Type 20
Why It Matters
Breguet's military pilot's chronograph. The French armed forces specified the Type 20 in the early 1950s: a flyback chronograph with a black dial, a bidirectional rotating bezel, a thirty minute counter at three and running seconds at nine, in a screw-back steel case about thirty eight millimetres across. Breguet was an official supplier from 1954 to 1960, delivering roughly eleven hundred to the Air Force and five hundred to the Naval Aviation, whose 1958 order arrived in 1960. It runs a Valjoux 22 with a flyback module. Several French makers built Type 20s; this is the Breguet.
