Fernando Tatís Jr. debuted with the San Diego Padres in 2019 and quickly became one of the sport's most electric players, leading the National League with 42 home runs in 2021. Before that season he signed a fourteen-year contract extension, at the time the third richest in MLB history. Originally a shortstop, he moved to right field in 2023 and has won two Gold Glove and two Platinum Glove awards there.
