Rumiko Takahashi's first collected Ranma ½ volume begins the series in book form. Shogakukan's Japanese volume carries a printed publication date of April 1988; its on-sale date is not recorded. This opening volume is a publication milestone separate from the series' magazine debut. Edition and printing must be established from an individual copy; a volume-one cover alone does not prove a first printing.
