Akira Toriyama's first collected Dragon Ball volume opens Goku and Bulma's search for the Dragon Balls. Shueisha published the Japanese volume in September 1985. Its significance is the beginning of the story in collected-book form. Edition and printing must be established from an individual copy; a volume-one cover alone does not prove a first printing.
